2006 CHARITABLE GIVING GRANTS

The Charitable Giving committee would like to announce the following recipients of MIPA grants for the 2005-6 year:

FEAT of Washington
French American School of Puget Sound
Kindering Center
Lake Heights Family YMCA
Mercer Island School District Speech/Language Therapy Department
Mercer Island Youth and Family Services (MIYFS)
West Mercer Preschool, Occupational Therapy Department

All applications were given equal consideration and were greatly appreciated. We regret that we could not fulfill all grant requests but encourage applications for the 2006-2007 grant program.

ABOUT MIPA'S CHARITABLE GIVING

Starting with supporting the war efforts and seeding money for the library in the 1940s, through helping the nursery school and Kindergarten into the 1970s, charitable giving has always been a major focus of MIPA.

Fundraising through our major events and other activities help MIPA budget funds for charitable donations annually. Some recipients of previous years' gifts include Youth Theater Northwest and other local preschools, PEPS, Childhaven, and Eastside Baby Corner.

MIPA provides support to MIYFS and other organizations that enrich the lives of children, and sponsors community events such as Summer Celebration and Mostly Music in the Park concerts annually.

MIPA developed a Preschool Grant Fund in 2002 to provide grants to local preschools. Contact us if you would like more information on where to send a preschool grant proposal.
