About MIPA

The Mercer Island Preschool Association (MIPA), established in 1937, is a private non-profit organization of volunteers dedicated to enhancing the lives of children from newborn through kindergarten in Mercer Island and the community at large.

2008 Toddlers Of Mercer Island (TOMI):  

Announcing a brand new program brought to you by MIPA! This exciting new program will be the perfect meeting place for your Tuesday mornings!!

2008 Preschool Exceptional Educator Award:  

The recipient of the 2008 Exceptional Educator Award is Rita Macomber, a Teacher at Mercer Island’s Emmanuel Day School.

“Give From the Heart” Preschooler Scholarships:  

The “Give from the Heart” Campaign is helping raise money for children currently living on Mercer Island who are not able to attend preschool due to financial strain. Through February.

Interested in local and state issues that affect our children? Join MIPA’s Advocacy team!

Our all-volunteer board is very active putting on events for our kids and in our community!   We meet once a month at general membership meetings, held in different members' homes.   Any member is welcome to these meetings.

 

Beyond MIPA

Mercer Island Preschool sponsored events:  

Toy Swap: A giant consignment sale of gently used toys, children’s clothes and equipment. Clean out your closets and be a seller, and/or come for the sale and pick up great bargains. Portion of the proceeds goes to fund MIPA charities and operations. (Fall)

Halloween: An inside block party with games, entertainment and a costume parade. (October)

Kids Activities: Check out the great MIPA sponsored activities for your kids (all year round)

Family Socials: Organized meet-ups of families and kids at various parks, locales and homes (all year round)

Preschool Fair: An excellent opportunity to decide which of Mercer Island's preschools or day care programs might be best for your child, while enjoying a fun-filled children’s event

Circus: Pony rides, a reptile man, pie walks, and musical guests…this is a homespun circus on a grand scale that year after year draws young families for a day of fun and community gathering. (April)

Holidoors: Bring the joy of the season to our senior community by helping your children create lovely artwork to decorate senior community residences’ apartment doors. Art parties and a get-together with the seniors are planned. (December)

MIPA provides abundant opportunities for preschoolers and their parents around Mercer Island to get together, have fun, provide support, and develop friendships, in addition to providing activities and raising funds to help other preschoolers.
